Big Sir Bevin Hong
April is a great time to pause and appreciate what we have—longer days, better weather, and the chance to spend more time getting out and connecting with others.
It’s also a good reminder not to take our SIR community for granted. What makes this group special isn’t just the activities—it’s the people who show up, participate, and make the effort to keep things going. Whether you help organize an event, attend regularly, or simply take the time to talk with someone new, it all matters.
A strong group doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through small, consistent efforts and a shared appreciation for being part of something together.
As we move further into the year, I encourage you to take a moment to appreciate the friendships we’ve built here—and, if you can, to invite someone new to experience it as well.
Thank you for being part of SIR.

Once a month we have poker night at a volunteer host home between 6:00 to 10:00 pm on the third Tuesday or Thursday. Since we play 7 card games the signups are limited to 7 players on an email announcement with first responders first. Hosts supply simple snacks, poker table, cards and chips. If necessary there’s a lot of participants that can loan these items upon request.
