Enduring COVID-19 SIP Orders
“I will always give you hope. Here is why. We will get through this. I want you to know this. This Easter I just chilled at home. So did you. Today I told a friend who was feeling low I told her this. We are in this moment. I know it is scary and depressing. BUT next year this will be a story. Maybe a topic of conversation on a first date. When this whole thing is over it will be "do you remember when" and we will get there. This too shall pass.”

“Been doing tons of crunches since the lockdown began. Crunchn' these chips, this popcorn, these cashews, this cookie...”

I Zoomed with the board, we discussed the video Ed Benson, forwarded to myself and little Sir Bill Jung.
The board decided not to follow all the guidelines, due to the fact, we run our meeting differently.
I put in 12. Tomato plants. My wife and I take turns Grocery shopping we try to go once a week.
I am ready for the Barbershop to open, pretty soon I will be able to put my hair in a ponytail.
We try to get takeout from our local small restaurants often as Karin tells me she is tired of cooking. We have had Chinese food, Pizzza from Gay 90''s and sandwiches from Mr. Pickles.
My sciatica has not, improved with the epidural I had.
Hope all of you are staying healthy.
With some luck we may be able to get together soon.

Golf
We had a great day of golf at Poppy Ridge, even with the extreme heat. Joe Hernandez was in my foursome and I’m excited to say, I saw him get a hole in one, way to go Joe. It was Joe’s first hole in one! The funny thing is, when someone gets a hole in one the protocol is for that person to buy a round of drinks for everybody in the group. Joe lucked out due to Covid-19, the bar was closed. But we quickly realized the snack shack was open and Joe was able to buy a round of beers and sodas for the group. Way to go Joe...

I need a haircut. Any advice on which type and where to get the cut?😀 Kelly Wiest
My wife Michelle has trimmed my hair twice in the back yard. She had never done it before, but has done a nice job. I appreciate that, the longer hair was bothering me. Peter Weeks
My wife has given me several haircuts. I've been wishing I had not given away actual barber tools. Her scissors pull some and cut some. Clint Logan

Other SIP Coping Techniques
I have tried Zoom both with friends and with family. Our daughter teaches high school Spanish using Zoom. She has well over 100 students, but poor participation. This is in Sonora, CA -- not in Tri-Valley. We have two adults living on our court who grew up here. They have been adding our grocery list when they shop for parents. We've also used Raleigh's drive by shopping. They seem to take isolation seriously. Sometimes their substitutions are bizarre, however. We have not used take out yet. Total Wine and More -- will put up an order and deliver it curbside (at least at the Pleasanton store). Clint Logan
Phil Henry is using this time to work in his garden... and he is looking forward to good tomatoes.
I have been busy growing my tomatoes, basil and veggies, making lots of Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, harvesting and drying oregano, making upstate New York chicken barbecue with a very old recipe from Cornell University and celebrating Memorial Day or as most of you remember, Decoration Day with Flander’s Field red poppies. Jim Benham
As poker guidance counselor and therapist my message to the group: I’d rather be playing poker (even if losing) than watching my tomatoes grow. Bob Law
