Dave Willmore Big Sir
Dear fellow SIRs
Greetings fellow SIRs. It's hard to believe that 2023 is nearly over. It's a good time to look back and reflect on what has happened at the branch this year...
We focused a lot on adding members and as of the end of November, 15 new members have joined us and we anticipate adding a couple of more by year end. That's our biggest increase in membership in the last 5 years which is encouraging. I will announce the winner of the recruiter of the year award at our January meeting...
We had a great summer picnic and I'm looking forward to a wonderful Christmas luncheon on December 7th. Thanks to Peter Weeks and his team for organizing these events.
We published a survey and received lots of good feedback. The board reviewed the results and there are several actions that are in process.
We expect to add several new activities in 2024, given the feedback from the activities survey. There's a lot of interest in activities such as Pickle ball, biking, bowling, billiards/pool, couples dining out and card/board games such as Pinochle, cribbage and Mexican dominoes. We will look to kick off these and other activities in the new year.
We kicked off our recognition program and awarded our three Honorary Life members, Tom Reif, Frank Narciso and Buck Helsel with a gold pin. We also awarded Distinguished Service Awards to Steve Annen, Joe Hernandez, Dick Small and Bill Junge for their contributions to the club. Awards of the 'I did my part' pin are in process...
John Roberts arranged for several interesting speakers for our luncheons this year. Lots of positive feedback received from our members on the quality of our speakers. Well done John!
As I end my term as Big SIR and hand over the gavel to our new Big SIR John Roberts, I wanted to say that it's been a privilege to serve and thank you all for your support....
Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy 2024!
Best regards
Dave Willmore
Little Sir John Roberts
Holiday season is upon us and we are looking forward to the gala luncheon next week! Hoping to see as many as possible of you there.
David has done a fantastic job this year adding new members and leading us out of the covid doldrums. We should all be grateful for his efforts. I can only hope to match his level of leadership. Along with Gary Kohler’s enthusiasm we hope to implement some new ideas and strategies to further energize the club next year.
My year as Little Sir has gone by quickly and I am open to any and all suggestions for improvement of the club during my Big Sir days(daze). Please let me know by email if you have questions,or concerns, or fantastic ideas: [email protected]
