Big Sir Bevin Hong
February is often associated with connection—Valentine’s Day, friendships, and time spent with people we care about. It’s a good reminder of why SIR is so important. Beyond the activities and events, this organization exists to keep us connected to one another.
As we move through the year, I encourage each of you to reach out—sit with someone new at a luncheon, invite a fellow member to an activity, or simply check in on someone you haven’t seen in a while. Small gestures can make a big difference, especially for those who may be feeling isolated or unsure about getting involved.
You don’t need to participate in everything SIR offers. Just participating in something—at your own pace—helps strengthen our friendships and our branch. My hope for February is that we continue building a culture where everyone feels welcome, valued, and connected.
Thank you for being part of what makes this group special.

A Note From Your Little Sir
February Speaker- Marc Joffe President of the Contra Costa Taxpayers Association and a California Policy Center visiting fellow.
After the interesting speaker we had from the Bart Board last year about their fiscal issues Marc Joffe will discuss the fiscal health of our local cities.
It should an interesting topic considering how the City of Pleasanton has been in the news this last year and failed to pass a tax increase. Hope to see everyone at our next meeting.
March and June speakers have been arranged with Zone 7 water speaking on the state of our local water supply in March and Steve Minniear the City of Dublin's Historian who will speak on the history of the Tri Valley in April. He has written a book on Dublin's WW2 military history that is very interesting and is available at most local grocery stores.
