YEAR 2016 IS THE YEAR OF MEMBERSHIP EXPANSION
August Newsletter
August Newsletter
The August free lunch when to a member who has and still is very active in our branch: Al Dunlop. Al has been our Golf Chairman for numerous years and still does the Races for us at Golden Gate Fields. If you are interested in attending the races this year, contact Al at 925-828-2488 or email him at mdunlop@pacbell.net
At the upcoming September meeting we will be having 3 very special guest attending our luncheon:
Don Dill - President of the Sirs Organization
Ed Benson – Regional Director
Ron Saltgaver – Our Area Governor
Remember if you see a member who has a dot on their name badge go up to them and welcome him aboard. Let’s not forget these new members. Remember the phrase from Mark Twain: THERE ARE NO STRANGERS IN THIS WORLD JUST NEW FRIENDS WE HAVE NOT YET MET.
It’s getting old talking about this same issue every month. But we still have members that feel that they don’t need to let Ron know that they won’t be there for the meeting, thusly we end ordering more meals then we need. Currently there are about 13 or more different members each month who feel that don't have to respond to Ron’s message about not being at the luncheon. Let’s get this number down. So please if you cannot make the meeting let Ron know.
Last note: if anyone is interested on being on the Board of Directors let me or any board member know that you are interested. We offer great pay, super pensions, extended vacation, and it’s all tax free.
Little SIR
Jack Parker
I'm pleased to announce that our speaker for September will be Greg Robles. Greg is the owner of the popular Altamont Beer Works. The popularity of micro beers just seems to keep growing and you can find Altamont beers in many of the local valley restaurants.
In October, we will have Catherine Baker speaking. She will bring us up to date on what is happening in Sacramento.
See you September 1st
