July
 Newsletter 2023

Reminder: July 6th luncheon is happening

Dave Willmore  Big Sir
Greetings fellow SIRs..

Well we are half way though the year already and a still waiting for some warm summer weather. Our golf outings have been quite cool and windy and I assume that it's the same for Bocce Ball. Glad to see a warm up coming as we move into July.

We had a great picnic at Highland Oaks on Thursday, June 22nd. A total of 65 members, spouses and guests attended on a warm, comfortable afternoon and enjoyed lots of ribs, chicken, corn and other sides. A warm thanks to Peter Weeks for organizing the picnic and also to his team of assistants.... Tom Crawford, Fred Hilke, Bill Junge and John Peterson. Also, a special thanks to Mike Melvin for reserving the venue and for all who helped in clean up after the event.

At the June meeting, we recognized Dick Small and presented him with a Distinguished Service Award for all his contributions over many years. Dick managed and published our newsletter, including creation, layout, artwork and distribution. He also created and managed our web site and handled all inter-branch communication for many years. Once again, a big thank you for your contributions to our branch Dick!

For the first time in a long time, we will hold a monthly luncheon meeting in July on Thursday, July 6th at San Ramon Golf Club. John Roberts has arranged for an interesting speaker to present. We will also update you on where we are in membership and also recognize another outstanding SIR with a Distinguished Service Award. We look forward to seeing you there....

Happy Fourth!!!
