Newsletter Tri Valley SIR 34
How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?
Dr. Seuss
As I and the rest of my Pittsburgh Steelers teammates prepared that week in late December 1974, we knew one thing: The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC went through Oakland. To achieve your dreams as a team, you had to slay the Oakland Raiders. They were the barometer of what it took to be a championship team.

Big Sir.
During the November Board meeting the board members decided to extend the commitment of the Big SIR, the Little SIR and all current board members through 2021.
The following is a message from the Area 17 Big SIR regarding SIP rules and SIR activities:
Area 17 Big Sirs
You should have received an email from Ed Benson informing us to immediately cease all activities that are not held virtually. This means SIR no longer sponsors some of the activities like golf, biking and hiking that we just restarted. It includes luncheons, trips and other activities where our members assemble together.
This action taken by the State SIR Board is a direct response to the latest Covid directive from the state Health Department. The board reviewed the new directive including a review by our attorney. The Board determined that the risk to the existence of SIR was sufficient to warrant this cessation.
In recognition of the impact of complying with the directive, dues assessment are suspended for Q1 2021.
Please note that this is only for SIR sponsored events. Members can engage in activities as individuals if they arrange for the activity themselves without the support of SIR.
When the time comes that the directive is rescinded by the state each BEC will review and approve all activities for the branch before activities can resume.
Big And Little SIR Announcement
In these days of COVID-19 Shelter in Place one of the things we both miss the most is the ability to get together once a month to share ideas, voice concerns and catch up on each other and our families. Our monthly luncheon meetings fostered those activities and much more. In this regard, the Board of Directors wishes to let everyone know, we’re here. If you have concerns, need advice, need to vent, share a joy or hardship, need some transportation or simply need someone to talk to, you may contact any Board member for any reason.
