Welcome to December everyone.
I hope all had a great Thanksgiving and spent time with family and
friends. Speaking of thanks, I would like to thank our Board of Directors
for their help and good cheer during this year. It’s a good group and
their guidance makes Sir 34 a successful organization. My gratitude to
the many volunteers at every lunch who’s efforts make our meetings
most enjoyable.
Our next big SIR for 2019 will be Jim Benham and Little Sir will be Bill
Staack. They will both bring fresh ideas and will make 2019 a good one.
Just a reminder, that our Christmas party is December 6 at Castlewood
Country Club. I hope to see you there

Our wine tasting for November was at Ken & Barbra Mc Donalds home. I was not there but did talk to Ken, he advised that everyone had a very good time. Over 40 folks attended but it worked just fine in their home and newly decorated back patio. Thank you Ken and Barbara. Our next wine tasting will be in January, details will be coming out latter this month.

We meet every second Wednesday of the month at 10am (next one Wednesday December 12th), for the moment at the Corner Bakery Café near intersection of Bernal and Valley near I-680. We have a list of topics we want to explore and are currently working on Civil War stories. Please join us if you are interested and bring a fact or two with you to share.

Bocce is the 1st and 3 rd Tues at 10 am at the Pleasanton senior center. No Bocce December 4th the courts are too soggy. If the rain continues there will be no bocce on the 18th. Steve will let everyone know if the games are cancelled.
I hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving !!!! The Beer Group met at Shadow Puppet Brewery on Thursday Nov 29 at 4 pm at 4771 Arroyo Vista suite b in Livermore . We sampled from their wide selection of beers and had a great time.

This is another new group, grab a hold of Carl Churilo during the meeting to get more information about the next dinner outing.

The dancing still goes on and there are plenty of places to go out and become a hero to your spouse. As you all know, women love to dance, so why not take them to one of the places mention below and have a great time together.

- Rossmoor Senior Community: last Sunday of the month, great dance floor, DJ music, and a is only $5 per person.
- Merry Mixers at the Elks Club in Walnut Creek: twice a month – 1st and 3th Friday of each month, live band, smaller dance floor but fun.
- Castle Rock Restaurant, Livermore: every Sunday and Tuesday night. Live band.
- Two Left Feet, Danville, every Sunday afternoon, DJ music, and nice dance floor.

We had an all time high attendance this month with 18 SIRs coming to Breakfast at Vic's in downtown Pleasanton. We experienced lots of Holiday cheer and robust discussion. The next SIRs breakfast will be January 30.

Wood Carvers
John Peterson The Wood Carvers meet every Tuesday from 9 to 4 and at 6-8 pm every Thursday at the Wood Shop in the Senior Center. They take a lunch break on Tuesday at the Sage Cafe in the Senior Center. This September 8-9 is the 48th annual show at the Pleasanton Vetrens Center. This year the theme is animals in a carousel, come to the show for a roaring good time! |
