Dave Willmore
Big Sir

Greetings fellow SIRs. Glad to see the warmer weather which is allowing us to enjoy more and more outdoor activities....

We are continuing our efforts to add new members to our branch and are seeing results. At the June luncheon and at upcoming events, I'll hand out some introduction cards to all members. We'd like you to write your contact name and phone number on each card and then carry a few cards with you. If you meet a potential new member, hand them a card and tell them about our branch. Our experience shows that one on one contact is the best way to add new members and these cards should help us increase our membership.

At our last monthly meeting, we recognized and awarded our three Honorary Lifetime members, Tom Reif, Buck Helsel and Frank Narcisso. At the June meeting, please come and help us recognize  two more of our branch members with the Distinguished Service Award for their contributions to our branch and show your appreciation.

Our speaker in June is a recently joined member to our branch, TJ Mcgrath. We appreciate having members of our branch speak on items of interest at our monthly meetings. If you have a topic that you'd like to share at an upcoming luncheon. Please contact Little SIR John Roberts...

Best regards
Dave Willmore

Dear fellow SIRs

The luncheon speaker for June will be TJ Mcgrath speaking about Bud Anderson

Just A Common Soldier, also known as A Soldier Died Today, is one of the most popular poems on the Internet. Written and published in 1987 by Canadian veteran and columnist A. Lawrence Vaincourt, it now appears in numerous anthologies, on thousands of websites and on July 4, 2008 it was carved into a marble monument at West Point, New York.
Please enjoy this tribute to the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen who have given so much for our country.            Link to Youtube                 Just A Common Soldier

Honorary Life Member (HLM) - This award is the highest and most prestigious a

• been a member for a period of 5 years or more.

• steps forward whenever the need arises
• would be recognized by his peers to have earned it
The HLM is not to be treated lightly or awarded merely on the basis of good fellowship.
