YEAR 2016 IS THE YEAR OF MEMBERSHIP EXPANSION
November Newsletter
November Newsletter
Great News, the Board of Directors had decided to reduce the November lunch to only:
$15
(Please bring exact change as we have a limited number of $5 bills)
There was enough money in the Treasury left over this year which gave us the opportunity to reduce the cost again.
The October free lunch went to a member who last month was awarded the Sirs Honorary Life Member Award. That honor was bestowed onto Frank Narcisco. The Board, I, and all the members in Branch 34 want to thank you for all your hard work and effort you put into the organization.
Letter of Recommendation for: Frank Narciso
It is with great pleasure that we, the branch executive committee of SIR Branch 34, Pleasanton, CA, submit this recommendation letter for Frank Narciso to become an Honorary Life Member of the SIR organization.
Even though I have only known Frank for a short period of time, he made a lasting impression on me and our organization. My first interaction with Frank was when he served as Big SIR for the year 2012. During his time in office, he was never too busy to assist the members while managing the daily operations of the organization.
Subsequent to that, Frank was on the Executive Board serving as Secretary for 2013 when the incoming Big SIR left the area unexpectedly. Unsurprisingly, Frank wasted no time to fill the void and volunteered for Big SIR for 2014.
In all my years of experience, some individuals stand out for their great qualities and Frank is one of those people. He is well known for his work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership. He is well respected throughout the organization for being the "go-to" person for getting things done.
Throughout the time that I have known him, he has shown me time and again that he is a positive, motivated leader who will continue to make a tremendous impact to the SIR organization.
In summation, due to his great attitude and dedication, we heartily recommend that you accept Frank Narciso for an Honorary Life Member. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the board if we can be of further assistance.
Remember is you see a member who has a dot on their name badge go up to them and welcome him aboard. Let’s not forget these new members. Remember the phrase from Mark Twain: THERE ARE NO STRANGERS IN THIS WORLD JUST NEW FRIENDS WE HAVE NOT YET MET.
Last note: if anyone is interested on being backup chairmen for any of our activities let Jack Parker or myself know. We offer great pay, super pensions, extended vacation, and it’s all tax free.
Frank Narciso
To all members of Sir's branch 34:
It was a pleasant surprise to be recognized and to receive the prestigious "Honorary Life Member” award. Since I joined the Sir's in 2005, I have met some great individuals and I am happy to say, made some great friends. I was reluctant, at first, to become Little Sir, but after some guidance, suggestions, and help from former officers, I gained confidence in doing the job. With some research, planning, and effort, I was surprised as to how "easy" it was to contact and recruit some very good speakers. With the experience gained as Little Sir, stepping up to Big Sir came easily. I would like to thank the following individuals for their guidance, support, and help in successfully completing both posts in the Sirs club: All the board members during my tenure, with special thanks to Nino Pompilio. To past Big Sirs that offered their help. To members of the impromptu Speakers Committee during my second term, specifically Dick Salvas, Tom Crawford, Carl Michelotti, Ken McDonald, Dale Bowman, Jim Kenna, Fred Martin and Hank Ottaviano. Their efforts in contacting and getting speakers greatly helped in running the club during this time.
I want to encourage all members to do a self analysis as to how they can help to make this club better as STEP UP and take a personal responsibility to contribute to our club's success.
I want to thank Big Sir Carl Churilo and all current board members for all their efforts that contributed in getting and presenting this very special award. THANK YOU.
To all members of Sir's branch 34: From Frank Narciso

The Sirs Christmas Dinner Dance is just around the corner so let’s get those dancing shoes out and start practicing. Remember Sirs, women love to dance and this is an opportunity to impress your better half. Those of you who want to learn how to dance there is still plenty of time to sign up for inexpensive lessons at Livermore Community Center, Dublin Senior Center, San Ramon Community Center, and Two Left Feet located in Danville. We may be getting up there in our years but we can still move around a dance floor and its great exercise as well. If you’re interested in any Ballroom Dancing and places when to go dancing call me Carl 925-967-8177 or email me at [email protected] or go to the below Website for dance events all over the Bay area.
